Job Description

Awfis Space Solutions Limited is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Responsibilities include ensuring ISO compliance, conducting safety training, managing contractor safety, investigating incidents, maintaining fire safety systems, and overseeing waste management. The role involves daily site inspections, developing SOPs, participating in audits, and leading safety meetings. This is a full-time position with no specified degree requirement.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and oversee their implementation at the site level.
• Stay well-versed in local and central board legal compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Organize and conduct weekly and monthly safety trainings for employees and contractors.
• Oversee contractor safety management, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain the health and functionality of fire safety systems.
• Investigate and analyze incidents and events to implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Conduct daily Gemba walks to identify potential hazards and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain and update all safety and compliance documentation as per protocol.
• Issue and implement work permits for various site activities.
• Track and report weekly waste generation (e-waste, battery waste, hazardous waste).
• Submit monthly and annual State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) returns.
• Identify risks associated with activities and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
• Drive continuous improvement through Kaizens and process optimizations.
• Prepare and report monthly highlights and lowlights in safety performance.
• Conduct annual and monthly mock drills for emergency preparedness.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation Control Procedures (OCPs) for activities.
• Compile and share Monthly Business Review (MBR) data for safety performance tracking.
• Monitor all health and safety activities, ensuring effective implementation of safety protocols.
• Evaluate test reports, identify deviations, and report discrepancies for corrective action.
• Assess worksite criticality, evaluate safety measures, and issue work permits accordingly.
• Inspect utility management at job sites for hazardous work activities and conduct safety analyses.
• Perform in-house inspections for RO plants, food safety, diesel generators (DG), liquid treatment plants (LTP), pump houses, material handling equipment (MHC), lifts, earth pits, transformer yards, etc.
• Oversee and monitor Medical Health Centre (MHC) operations and requirements.
• Actively participate in ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 audits, including presentations.
• Identify environmental aspects and impacts related to the Environment Management System (EMS).
• Conduct life cycle assessments of materials from raw procurement to disposal.
• Develop and implement Operational Control Procedures (OCPs) for EMS compliance.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste effectively at the site.
• Organize and lead safety and building committee meetings to discuss and resolve workplace safety concerns.
