Job Description
AtkinsRéalis seeks an Environment & Energy Support Specialist in Ontario, Canada, to deliver energy outcomes for airport projects. Responsibilities include advising on clean energy strategies, developing energy hubs, analyzing utility data, and mentoring staff. Candidates should have a degree in engineering or related fields and at least 5 years of experience in energy planning. This is a full-time position based 100% on-site in Toronto.
Overview
The Engineering Services group is looking for an Environment & Energy Support Specialist with experience in delivering energy outcomes in the energy sector and energy or utilities planning in relation to large capital initiatives to join our growing team to work on one of the Canadian airport projects. This is a regular full time permanent position, based 100% on client's site in Toronto.
Your role
• Provides advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve the overall clean energy objectives of the programs.
• Works with Energy S/D manager to identify new clean energy purchase agreements (renewable natural gas, biodiesel, clean electricity, etc.). Includes evaluation and identification of best alternatives (e.g. power purchase agreement, direct purchase, joint venture agreements for clean energy, etc.).
• Support development of the airport energy hub concept and clean energy innovation including further development of hydrogen and Sustainable Aviation Fuel related studies and projects.
• Analyzes various utility data sources and provides information and reports to other managers and departments regarding potential alternative energy options for power/supply needs.
• Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of staff.
About you
• Recognized degree in related engineering, planning, or energy related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the engineering, planning or energy related field.
• Experience of delivering energy outcomes in the energy sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset.
• Demonstrable experience in energy and / or utilities planning in relation to large capital initiatives.
• Demonstrable experience in the assessment of distributed generation assets (solar PV, battery energy storage, etc.).
• Demonstrable experience with energy codes and standards.
• MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $90,000 - $130,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
