Job Description
TransGrid is seeking an Environmental Delivery Manager for Major Projects in Sydney, responsible for post-approval environmental governance and management across major transmission projects. The role involves developing environmental management frameworks, engaging with regulatory bodies, and providing specialist advice on environmental matters. Candidates should have a degree in environmental planning/management and extensive experience in environmental legislation and project management. The position offers a supportive team environment focused on renewable energy transition.

The Opportunity
As the Environmental Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the post environmental approval governance for Major Projects and for providing specialist environmental advice on post approval environmental matters across a portfolio of major transmission projects. You will be an expert at developing and delivering Major Project`s Construction Environmental Management Framework (CEMF) setting out environmental management standards. As part of your role you will engage and negotiate with the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) and agencies (such as BCD and Heritage NSW) with regards to post-approvals environmental management requirements including Environmental Management Plans. You will also be responsible for strategic management and advice on post-approval environmental management issues across Major Projects.
This position reports to the HSE Director Major Projects and works in collaboration with the Senior Environmental & Sustainability Manager and relevant Major Project Environmental Managers.
About You
• Tertiary qualification at degree level in an environmental planning/management related discipline
• Good understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of geographic information systems related to environmental planning and management.
• Demonstrated extensive understanding of the environmental and social aspects and impacts of electricity supply projects.
• Well-versed in environmental legislation and risk management.
• Strong understanding and extensive experience in the management and preparation of environmental management plans for Class A and B projects in NSW in accordance with Part 4 and Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
