Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environment and Sustainability Specialist to join our client's team in Brantford, ON. Reporting to the Senior Sustainability, Health, and Environmental Manager, this role will play a key part in driving environmental sustainability initiatives within the food industry.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental and sustainability initiatives into our operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contributing to cost savings through waste management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct GAP analysis of permits and legislation
- Perform environmental risk assessments (ERA)
- Lead and manage the environmental management system (EMS)
- Report and analyze environmental incidents
- Manage waste and ensure certification and audits are executed
- Develop and deliver training to operators and technicians
- Engage with stakeholders to promote environmental culture

Qualifications
- Deep understanding of environmental management systems, environmental aspects, permits, and regulations
- Proven project management skills, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management
- Analytical thinking skills to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Familiarity with local environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards
