International Development Group is seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Environment and Natural Resources Specialist for a project in Mexico City. The role involves providing technical assistance, conducting research, and engaging with stakeholders on environmental management issues. Candidates should have a relevant degree, extensive experience in the field, and familiarity with donor organizations. Occasional travel may be required, and the position is full-time.
Environment and Natural Resources Specialist

IDG is recruiting for a Mid-Level or Senior Environment and Natural Resources Specialist to provide technical assistance on a project in Mexico, with availability for quick deployment. The expert should have extensive experience in environment and natural resources management and would provide their expertise on one or more technical activities for a client.
Responsibilities
The Environment and Natural Resources Specialist will conduct the following:
• Review technical documents provided by the client and provide recommendations.
• Conduct research and draft reports as needed.
• Provide recommendations to the client for technical activities to address identified key constraints.
• Provide expertise on environment and natural resources management to the client and key stakeholders.
• Provide expertise in one or more of the following areas:
◦ Natural resources management.
◦ Environmental protection.
◦ Water resources and access to water resources.
◦ Conservation.
◦ Environmental regulations and implementation of those regulations.
• Identify key stakeholders associated with the technical activities and engage with them to build relationships.
• Occasional travel and on-site activities could take place to facilitate support and/or research.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor degree in a related field required (Environment, Natural Resources Management, etc.). Advanced degree preferred.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience required, at least 12 years of experience preferred.
• Prior experience working with donors such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Millenium Challenge Corporation, Department for International Development, etc. preferred.
• Extensive technical experience in environmental and natural resources management required.
• Technical experience in or more of the following areas required:
◦ Natural resources management.
◦ Environmental protection.
◦ Water resources and access to water resources.
◦ Conservation.
◦ Environmental regulations and implementation of those regulations.
• Prior experience conducting stakeholder analysis and ability to establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
