Job Description

SuperbTech, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Geologist/Engineer in Los Angeles, CA, with a pay rate of $31.00/hr. This temporary-to-hire position involves field and office tasks related to environmental sampling and geological analysis. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Geology or a related field, with 3+ years of experience. The role requires physical exertion and adherence to safety protocols. Interviews are required, and only US citizens may apply.

Work Hours: 6am-4pm

LOCALS ONLY (No per diem or relo)

Work Location: 2800 E 50th Street, Vernon, CA 90058
• This site provided is the field office where personnel meet every morning at 6 for a tailgate meeting and then disperse to other locations.

Environmental Geologist/Engineer

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of standard geological and environmental science principles and theories
• Assist and conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling
• Soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities
• Supervise drillers and other subcontractors
• Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority
• Complete field documentation such as activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms
• Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and/or geochemistry
• Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting
• Prepare figures of environmental data, potentiometric surface maps, geologic maps, and cross sections
• Develop materials and assist in completing reports on finished field work
• May provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists or environmental scientists
• Work with project managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
• A familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations is preferred
• This work requires some physical exertion such as extended periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities
• Work in adverse weather conditions (e.g., hot, cold, rain, snow)
• Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
• Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field or as part of a team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically 3+ years of related work experience
