Entry-Level IT Support Specialist

ASM Research is hiring an Entry-Level IT Support Specialist in Cheyenne, WY. Responsibilities include providing technical support for systems and software, troubleshooting incidents, maintaining servers and networks, and assisting in technology integration. Join our team as an Entry-Level IT Support Specialist, where you'll provide essential technical support and maintenance for both production and development systems and software products. This role includes assisting with hardware and software support at the operating system level across various server and network platforms while working in accordance with our defined operating model and processes.
• Execute routine changes on production systems under the guidance of experienced Administrators.
• Assist in integrating new technologies into the existing infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 incidents affecting the operation and availability of production systems by implementing known fixes.
• Deploy standard, repeatable build processes efficiently.
• Help maintain and patch relevant technologies including servers, databases, networks, and software solutions.
• Support routine backup strategies and participate in disaster recovery tests.
• Monitor system performance indicators and escalate issues to senior team members when necessary.
• Review vendors’ release notes and assist in implementing required upgrades and patches.
• Maintain third-party tools to ensure optimal functioning.
• Contribute proactive suggestions for service improvements based on your observations.

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience is accepted.
• 0-2 years of experience in information technology, systems administration, or another IT-related field.

Other Job-Specific Skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems and products, including Microsoft Windows, Windows Servers, Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to apply standard methodologies and techniques to resolve issues effectively.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving basic hardware, software, or networking issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical terminology to non-technical staff.
• A commitment to excellent customer service.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, digital workspace, and storage technology is a plus.

Compensation Ranges

The compensation for this position may vary based on several factors, including location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, and years of experience. The stated compensation of $23/hour serves as a general guideline and is specific to this role.
