Introduction

This role is to support in establishing and improving the site-wide Safety policies, procedures and coordinate their effective implementation to identify potential hazards and risks of injury, ill-health, property damage or business interruption. Furthermore they are to assess and prevent unsafe work exposure via hazard elimination or mitigation controls in the operations.

Your Job
• Implement programs and monitor compliance to local Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Security legislations as well as GlobalFoundries’ EHSS programs for employees, contractors, suppliers, vendors and visitors.
• Promote safe conduct of work via EHS policies and procedures awareness of GlobalFoundries employees, contractors, vendors and other visitors
• Conduct site-wide Safety audits; create and follow up corrective and preventive actions as necessary to support the goal of zero non-conformity.
• Develop and conduct EHS training programs within specialty areas as necessary.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess their applicability and impact, and recommend compliance measures.
• Support and implement corrective actions for legal Non-Compliance issues when required to do so.
• Responsible for Safety programs including but not limited to accident and injury prevention, emergency preparedness programs, compliance, targets and objectives.
• Perform or support risk assessments, Job Hazard Analysis and / or Pre-task Plans to mitigate potential risks to human health and environmental issues.
• Manage and maintain IH programs (e.g. Hazard Assessment, Monitoring and data analysis, Ergonomics, Personal Protection Effectiveness, etc.)
• Work with Occupational Health nurses and Company’s doctor to assess exposure risks/health management protocols and procedures.
• Support daily Safety and Emergency Response operations in a semiconductor environment including area inspections, equipment evaluations / Safety controls review, incident investigation, high risk permit review, sign-off and auditing, Safety Committee Meeting support, Contractor Safety aspects, Risk assessment review, Emergency Response / Preparedness aspects, Audit support, and other tasks as assigned or necessary.

Other Responsibilities:
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:
• A technology-related Bachelor’s degree / Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or a Master’s degree in a technology field
• Strong preference for those with experience in developing, implementing and maintaining proactive, environmental, health, safety and/or industrial hygiene programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and agency practices are also required.
• Professional certification in environment, health, safety or industrial hygiene preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a global matrix-team or environment
