Job Description

TecNiq Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Galesburg, MI headquarters. The role involves implementing quality standards, investigating quality concerns, improving production processes, and supporting customer interactions. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role and a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
TecNiq Inc., founded in 2004, designs and manufactures high quality, energy-efficient LED lighting products for fleet vehicles, construction trailers, emergency response vehicles, boats, recreational vehicles, and much more. To continue TecNiq’s rapid growth and expansion, we are looking for a self-motivated highly energetic individual to join our TecNiq team, at the corporate headquarters in Galesburg, MI.

A successful candidate will have background experience implementing and enforcing quality standards while providing support to our manufacturing team. The primary requirement is a true enjoyment of being an engineer that has desire to make a difference and contribute to the development and maintenance of the quality management system.

Duties And Responsibilities

Investigates internal and external quality concerns. Contributes and assists in problem resolution and process analysis.

Assists in making improvements to internal production processes with emphasis on scrap, rework and reject material reduction.

Investigates product quality trends to prevent or reduce product defects.

Reviews and organizes statistical data on quality of production by product type to produce process improvement recommendations.

Assists in Implementation of Quality Management Systems.

Analyzes warranty returns to determine root cause and makes recommendations based on findings. Proposes recommendations to key parties. Monitors and facilitates the completion of the recommended actions.

Implements changes and/or improvements in a timely and efficient manner.

Must be able to report problems and/or concerns to TecNiq’s Customers/ Suppliers through corrective or preventive action reports (CAR/PAR).

Must be able to provide customer support through direct customer interaction. (Phone and Email)

Must possess the ability to write work instructions, inspection standards, and perform training with production staff.

Participate in quality-related aspects of the new product development process. Must possess the ability to understand the PPAP process. Must possess the ability to write Control plans, PFMEA, Process flow and other quality documents.

Quality Management / Leadership experience is desirable. Must possess the ability to work alone or within a group.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. LED or lighting industry preferred. Customer interaction required. Must be able to think “big picture” and be a champion of continuous improvement. Must be able to work in a multi- functional, fast paced team environment.

Education And Experience

3-5 years in a manufacturing quality role required.

4-year Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
