Job Description
Sierra Pacific Industries is hiring an Engineer Intern for their Biomass Cogeneration team in Shelton, WA, offering $19.50 to $21.50 per hour. Interns will engage in hands-on projects focusing on renewable energy, assisting with combustion optimization, emissions control, and mechanical systems. Applicants should have engineering coursework and strong communication skills. The position is for Summer 2026, with flexible dates and includes a housing allowance for qualifying individuals.
Wages range from $19.50 to $21.50 per hour

As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and operators in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions for environmental and operational challenges. What you can expect as an intern:
Chemical Engineering Interns will assist with combustion optimization, emissions control, fuel quality analysis, and data-driven improvements to operations and maintenance procedures.
Mechanical Engineering Interns will support predictive maintenance programs, equipment cataloging, procedure development, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge to sustainable energy production.
Qualifications
College-level course work in engineering or programming
Excellent communication skills
Excellent critical thinking and writing skills
Thorough and organized
Knowledgeable with spreadsheets
Base Location: Shelton, Washington
Compensation includes competitive hourly wage and housing allowance for qualifying individuals.
