The New Jersey Clean Energy Jobs Program is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Newark, NJ. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in designing energy-efficient systems for high-rise and institutional buildings. Responsibilities include field surveys, engineering calculations, and coordination with other disciplines. Knowledge of New Jersey building and energy codes is essential. The position is full-time and involves both fieldwork and office work.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with an electrical engineering degree to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in design of energy-efficient electrical systems for complex high-rise and institutional buildings. Knowledge of building and energy codes and standards for commercial buildings is essential. The engineer will work under the supervision of the Project Manager or senior engineer.

Job Responsibilities
• Field surveys
• Preparation of engineering calculations
• Drawings and technical reports for electrical systems
• Development of conceptual designs and detailed designs for electrical systems
• Coordination/communication with other disciplines and follow through during construction phase

Qualifications
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• 2-6 years experience in engineering in commercial/institutional buildings, preferably in New Jersey
• Knowledge of New Jersey building and energy codes
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and balance multiple projects at once
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Relevant Experience

LEEP AP credential (Preferred)

Knowledge of New Jersey building and energy codes

Initiative and ability to work unsupervised

Work Environment

Work in field and in office.

Salary negotiable and commensurate with experience.
