Job Description

Fuze HR Solutions is hiring an Energy Technologist in Canada, offering a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote). The role involves high-performance design processes, building evaluations, and stakeholder education on energy systems. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Energy Technology, 3+ years of experience, and skills in AutoCAD and other analytical tools. Salary ranges from CA$60K to CA$75K annually.

THE ROLE
• Weaving new and unique approaches into high performance design processes across the mechanical and electrical engineering portfolio, while ensuring the efficacy of sustainability strategy development.
• Applying knowledge and expertise with high-performance mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and energy codes.
• Carrying out the evaluation of buildings and system design strategies.
• Educating project stakeholders on new technologies, as well as innovative solutions.
• Supporting the oversight of building certification, in addition to performance verification activities and processes.
• Working with applicable analytical tools to help inform design, as well as document performance in alignment with accepted standards.
• Develop tender documents and design packages which include drawings, specification, and sequences of operations.
• Coordinating with other disciplines internally, as well as externally with consultants.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project progress.
• Client interfacing, as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Education and Certifications
• Completion of a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Energy Technology.
• Possession of one or more of the following designations / certifications is considered an asset: PMP, CEM, EIT (working towards P.Eng is an asset.)
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in building energy systems analysis, retrofit design and operations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Required Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Equest / Carrier HAP / RETscreen / Hot2000 / EnergyPlus skills are assets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines / successful completion of projects.
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Self-motivating and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of organization.
• Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism.
