Position Summary

The Energy Systems Analyst II is responsible for performing detailed energy analysis, conducting on-site facility assessments, and supporting the development of energy efficiency solutions for complex building systems. The role requires independent project execution, strong technical expertise, and effective communication with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform site surveys, data collection, and technical evaluations of building systems

• Analyze HVAC, electrical distribution, and Central Energy Plant performance

• Develop energy conservation measures and calculate savings using industry methodologies

• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and client presentations

• Assist in design review, implementation support, and measurement & verification activities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders

• Provide mentoring and support to junior staff as needed

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and company procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• 2–4 years of experience in facility energy efficiency, commissioning, or related engineering field

• Strong understanding of building electrical/mechanical systems and load calculations

• Proficiency in MS Office and basic energy modeling tools

• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines

• Ability to travel for fieldwork (25–40%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or higher-education facility energy projects

• FE/EIT Certification; progress toward PE licensure is a plus

• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy audit protocols

• Experience with energy modeling software or measurement & verification practices

• Engagement with industry groups (e.g., ASHRAE, AEE)
