Our client, a forward-thinking energy consulting firm, is seeking a dedicated Energy Systems Analyst to join their team in Indianapolis, Indiana, US. This position is primarily office-based, fostering strong team collaboration and direct engagement with critical energy infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in analyzing complex energy systems, evaluating their efficiency, and proposing innovative solutions for optimization and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include data collection and analysis from various energy sources, modeling energy consumption patterns, assessing the impact of new technologies, and contributing to strategic energy planning for diverse clients across commercial and industrial sectors. You will work with advanced analytical tools and software to model system performance, identify areas for improvement, and quantify potential cost savings and environmental benefits. A deep understanding of energy markets, utility regulations, and renewable energy technologies is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative skills, excellent critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations. This role requires a meticulous approach to data management and a proactive attitude towards identifying and solving complex energy challenges. We are looking for an individual who can effectively communicate technical insights to stakeholders at all levels. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy), Economics, or a related quantitative field is required, with a Master's degree being a significant asset. Several years of progressive experience in energy analysis, consulting, or a related technical field are essential.
Responsibilities:
Analyze energy consumption data and system performance for various clients. Develop and validate energy models to predict system behavior and identify efficiency opportunities. Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of renewable energy integration and energy efficiency measures. Conduct market research on emerging energy technologies and trends. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and internal teams. Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management teams. Stay current with energy policies, regulations, and market dynamics. Assist in the development of long-term energy strategies for clients. Ensure accuracy and integrity of all analytical work performed. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in energy analysis, system modeling, or energy consulting. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R). Familiarity with energy modeling software and energy efficiency principles. Knowledge of energy markets, utility operations, and relevant regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
