About the position

ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Junior Engineer to support our Climate, Energy Efficiency, and Transportation line of business. This position is based in Arlington, VA, with hybrid and remote work options available. The successful candidate will apply their engineering and analytical skills to help individuals and organizations save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Our associates work on multiple projects, interact with all levels of staff, participate in client meetings, and engage with industry experts. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping critical programs that will influence the next era of energy policies impacting our communities and the world. You will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in homes and businesses. As part of a collaborative team, you will review and analyze energy-efficient consumer products and building technologies, contributing to the development of technical specifications. Your expected responsibilities will include conducting research, analysis, and industry outreach to develop energy efficiency specifications across various product categories. You will serve as a liaison between government and industry stakeholders, such as equipment manufacturers and energy efficiency advocates, to identify challenges and opportunities for improving product efficiency. Additionally, you will perform in-depth analyses of energy efficiency savings using spreadsheets, databases, and programming languages like Python and Ruby. Your role will also involve reviewing literature, conducting market research, writing technical materials, and developing program strategies while preparing and presenting persuasive presentations on energy efficiency and industry trends. You will need to convey complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences effectively.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
