About the Role:

We are seeking a BESS Consultant (Electrical Expert) with at least 2 years of experience in designing, testing, commissioning, or operating utility-scale battery energy storage products or projects.

Key Areas of Expertise:
The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience in several of the following fields:
• Lithium-ion Battery Systems:
Proficient in design and testing of Lithium-ion battery systems.
• Electrical Design:
Skilled in the electrical design of battery-based energy storage technologies.
• Civil, Structural, and Electrical Designs:
Capable of handling design basis calculations, transport and storage arrangements, installation, data communication, commissioning, and testing of battery-based projects.
• Regulatory Compliance:
Familiarity with standards, codes, guidelines, and regulations relevant to both BESS equipment and BESS projects.
• Battery Technology Fundamentals:
Understanding of the main characteristics and key aspects of current battery technologies.
• Testing and Integration Plans:
Ability to prepare FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and integration test plans for BESS systems and major components like transformers, switchgear, etc., along with technical document reviews provided by suppliers.
• Project Management:
Manage bids and projects through their entire lifecycle, from development to decommissioning, ensuring all project phases and milestones are met.
• Tendering and Bid Evaluations:
Experience in the tendering process and evaluating bids for BESS project investments.
• Team Collaboration:
Work alongside consultants, project managers, technology suppliers, and contractors to deliver cost-effective and high-quality BESS solutions.

About You:

As a BESS Consultant (Electrical Expert), you will be responsible for:
• Leading and delivering BESS projects for DNV’s clients.
• Providing technical expertise to ensure high-quality and timely project deliverables.
• Engaging in business development, proposal writing, client relationship management, and market intelligence activities.
• Collaborating in a dynamic and cooperative environment, contributing to global DNV projects.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Bilingual proficiency in the local language (e.g., Chinese if assigned to DNV China) and English.
• At least 2 years of experience in the BESS industry with a proven track record of managing complex and challenging projects.
• Alternatively, 3–5 years of experience in the renewable energy or power grid systems industry.
• Expertise in client management, team management, and process management.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with standards, codes, and regulations for BESS systems in the APAC region.
