Job Description

LASER Energy is hiring an Energy Market & Trading Analyst in Kings Hill, UK, with a salary starting at £35,000pa DOE. What You’ll Bring:

LASER Energy are looking for a motivated Energy Market and Trading Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth market analysis and interpreting key economic and energy supply data. You will communicate your insights clearly to both internal and external stakeholders, through written reports and presentations.

Your analysis will play a crucial part in supporting our procurement team to deliver exceptional energy trading market performance for LASER customers. Your contributions will assist in making informed decisions regarding short and long-term trading strategies, risk management, and market forecasts.

Additionally, you will collaborate with other authorized traders to manage power and gas volume requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient trading process.

What You’ll Achieve:

As an Energy Market and Trading Analyst you will:
• Analyse market data and produce reports on key issues and potential outcomes affecting trading and risk strategy
• Write briefings and presentations on UK and European energy commodity price drivers, including supply and demand factors
• Present market updates at internal meetings, customer forums, governance panels, and in newsletters
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding market data, analysis, and risk product information
• Support the procurement team with power and gas trading, maintain accurate trade records, and reconcile customer portfolio data

What We Require:
• Experience in an Energy Market Analyst role or similar in a wholesale trading environment or equivalent
• Experience or interest in supply/demand fundamental information for LNG, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Shipping, FX, Power, Coal, Renewables, Carbon and Power Purchase Agreements
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & VBA, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI)
• Ability to assimilate, analyse and interpret key facts from a wide variety of data sources working to tight deadlines
• A clear, concise and confident communicator, both orally and written
