Job Description
AutoZone is seeking an Energy Management Manager in Memphis, TN, responsible for facilitating energy conservation, leading awareness programs, and monitoring consumption. The role involves planning and implementing energy projects, managing cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering relationships with stakeholders. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or relevant experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with energy regulations. Project Management certification is preferred.
SUMMARY:
AutoZone's Energy Management Manager will facilitate energy conservation by identifying and implementing various options for saving energy, leading awareness programs, and monitoring energy consumption. Energy Mangers will play a critical role in the successful implementation of energy conservation and demand management programs within the industry. Meeting targets, planning and strategy are critical to this role. The Energy Management Manager is expected to use any and all tools at his or her disposal- from auditing existing measures to incorporating the latest technologies-to identify inefficiencies, shape energy best practices within the organization and optimize the relationship between energy use and the bottom line. To maintain engagement and keep the operation productive, good communication and interpersonal skills are required. EM will research, evaluate, negotiate, prepare ARS’s, create all documents associated with presentation and approval, work with various functional areas ( i.e. finance, store ops, construction, etc.), work with legal and vendors on PSA’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the planning and implementation of energy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client needs.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project decisions and strategies.
• Prepare and present project updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the energy sector.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to facilitate project success and identify new business opportunities.
• Remain current with the latest industry trends/innovations; assess applicability & potential to organization.
• Complete requirements for certifications, authorizations, and licenses.
• Mentor and support junior project managers and team members, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
• Manage up to three direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or five or more years’ experience in the industry.
• An understanding of the distribution of energy flow and how it relates to the bottom line.
• Familiarity with energy regulations, policies, and market trends is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• The ability to measure & monitor environmental footprint as it pertains to energy and policy.
• Technical fluency in electrical & mechanical systems.
• Excellent time management skills
• The ability to analyze large amounts of complex data and turn out actionable insights.
• An aptitude for multi-tasking & a willingness to involve yourself in the minutia of daily operations.
• The capacity to pursue and balance between short-term and long-term goals.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
