Leidos is seeking an Energy Engineering Specialist to join our Energy program team's efforts in empowering our community to achieve clean energy goals.

We are looking for a candidate who has a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals in mechanical and electrical equipment, coupled with excellent communication skills. You should have a passion and drive to learn and provide technical assistance to optimize energy consumption for our commercial customers while contributing to carbon neutrality.

Under the guidance of the Technical Services & Engineering Manager and/or other team members, you will:
• Review energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze billing and utility data using linear and multivariable regression models to evaluate project performance and identify anomalies.
• Provide tailored energy advising services for commercial clients.
• Conduct site visits to perform building energy audits, identifying areas of major energy consumption to optimize the operation of lighting, controls, and HVAC systems.
• Write technical summaries and briefs tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop educational materials for building owners and professionals in the design and construction fields.
• Develop and review measurement and verification (M&V) plans, conduct M&V activities, and analyze data to ascertain energy project savings and costs.
• Research and develop savings measures for emerging energy efficiency technologies.
• Create and deliver presentations for events and meetings, and participate in stakeholder community events.
• Develop interactive visualizations using programming languages such as R, Python, or JavaScript for internal and external stakeholders.

What Sets You Apart:
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering with over four years of professional experience in engineering or related fields; more years of relevant experience may replace degree qualifications.
• Have proficiency in analytical programming languages (R, Python) as well as SQL.
• Exhibit strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet development.
• Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
• Physical ability to conduct energy audits and perform field verification of energy efficiency measures.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience with project financing and cost analysis.
• Knowledge in energy efficiency and the built environment.
• Experience with ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 energy auditing and field metering.
• Background in construction management or building maintenance.
• Strong coding experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00. The Leidos pay range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, in addition to market alignment and other applicable criteria.
