Job Description

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Energy Engineering Intern for 2025 in Toronto, ON. The role involves developing designs, attending site inspections, and participating in project meetings under the guidance of a professional engineer. Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills. This position offers exposure to various projects and focuses on sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities

With guidance from a professional engineer and our global practice network, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
• Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs
• Attending site inspections, investigations, and monitoring
• Actively participating in project, client and team meetings
• Reviewing, preparing, and modifying designs
• Analyzing reports, specifications, and studies
• Gaining exposure to project, commercial, and client management
• Undertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables
• Actively participating in our Early Careers Professionals Network
• Supporting our ‘Purpose’ in everything you do

To be considered for this 2025 position, you’ll need:
• Pursing a bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field, from an accredited university
• Methodical approach to problem solving to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
• Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
• Excellent technical written communication and attention to detail, with an ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing
• Excellent teamwork skills, collaborates effectively with colleagues
• Work towards Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification
• Demonstrable interest in engineering projects through relevant experience, such as your field of study, internships, volunteering, or relevant association memberships is considered as an asset
