Energy Engineer - Retrofit Consulting

Reports To: Director of Retrofit Consulting

Division: Engineering

Responsibilities
• Examine and identify areas of opportunity to increase energy efficiency utilizing new or existing technologies, provide creative market transformation ideas, and/or innovative implementation strategies
• Collaborate with a team to ensure the successful evaluation, implementation, and verification of energy efficiency projects. Responsibilities may include developing conceptual designs, selecting proposed equipment, managing competitive bidding, overseeing project installations, conducting functional performance testing, and securing incentives on behalf of the client.
• Direct the efforts for multiple complex projects, including overseeing and reviewing the work of other technical resources assigned to those projects
• Incorporate knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and evaluation methods
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the field services and analytics processes
• Collaboratively work with the multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure reviews and recommendations are completed to professional standards
• Manage your time and tasks to provide accurate deliverables in the specified time frame
• Contribute to improving internal tools and processes, and lead electrification analysis and specialized studies
• Maintain a full retrofit project workload while providing support and mentoring to more junior team members

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline and 3 years of experience in the field of energy efficiency. Or Master’s degree in related discipline and 1-2 years of experience.
• Certified Energy Manager certification is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building systems, controls, domestic hot water, electric and HVAC systems.
• Leadership Ability: Promotes participation, cooperation, and excitement in given tasks

Skills:
• Knowledge and understanding of various mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in working in the energy efficiency field with either auditing or retrofitting projects
• Interacting with all levels of commercial, industrial and government clients.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Excellent technical and non-technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Ability to analyze technical issues and convey conclusions to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to successfully negotiate issues during meetings with middle and upper management as required
• Proficiency in energy modeling software such as eQuest, TraneTrace, and Carrier HAP is desirable

Salary Range : $75,000 - $95,000
