## Energy Efficiency Specialist

- Brooksville FL Operations Complex

Join Duke Energy as an Energy Efficiency Specialist and make a real difference in how our residential customers use energy. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to help millions of people every day while building a rewarding career with a company that values growth, recognition, and competitive compensation.

## What You'll Do

You'll perform on-site energy analysis at residential customer premises, examining how their equipment operates and identifying opportunities for cost-effective energy conservation. Your work involves collecting technical data, troubleshooting equipment problems, and conducting specialized inspections of duct systems, attic insulation, windows, roofing, appliances, and HVAC systems.

A key part of your role is translating technical findings into customer-friendly language. You'll educate customers about their energy usage and operational improvements, then motivate them to implement the energy efficiency measures that work best for their situation. You'll promote appropriate Duke Energy energy efficiency programs that satisfy customer needs, enhance their experience, and help us meet our FPSC mandated energy reduction goals.

You'll also meet required achievement levels for program sales across your home energy checks, inspect Energy Management systems for reliability and compliance with Duke Energy and National Electric Code standards, and resolve customer concerns and technical inquiries. Follow-through matters—you'll coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and other Duke Energy departments to improve sales results and address any outstanding issues on your customers' behalf.

Beyond the field work, you'll participate in marketing exhibits and trade shows, contribute to marketing campaigns using your geographical and program expertise to identify targeted customers, and identify other opportunities for Duke Energy programs and services. You'll conduct training seminars for call center, service, and line personnel to ensure our teams understand the Energy Management system, high bills, energy audits, and efficiency programs. Building strong relationships with local, state, and national trade ally organizations is part of the job too.

During storm restoration activities, you'll support the company's logistics organization as needed, and you'll serve as a Duke Energy ambassador at community events like homeowner association presentations.

## What We're Looking For

You must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience. This experience should give you effective analytical, problem identification, diagnostic, and resolution skills. You'll need a working knowledge of energy efficiency practices, consultative sales experience, strong written and oral communication skills, and experience in conflict resolution. General knowledge of the utility regulatory environment is important too.

Knowledge of the Duke Energy customer information system (C4C) is desired. A bachelor's degree in Energy Management and relevant certifications like Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) and/or Certified Energy Manager are preferred qualifications.

## Physical and Practical Requirements

This role requires you to be capable of climbing, bending, and lifting a minimum of 25 lbs while working in confined spaces. You must be able to pass clearance to wear a respirator for extended periods while in attic spaces, crawl spaces, and other areas with elevated temperatures or particulates. You'll need a valid driver's license.

## Work Environment and Location

You'll work inside and outside customer homes, in attic and crawl spaces, with time spent driving and traveling to customer appointments. Your work may span multiple regions as you perform home energy checks and support FPSC mandated goals. After the onboarding period, you'll work in various field locations as needed. However, you must live within a reasonable daily commute to your assigned work location in the Brooksville FL Operations Complex area. Field mobility is a core part of this position.

Travel is not required, and relocation assistance is not provided. This is a full-time position with a friendly work environment where you'll find opportunities for growth and development, recognition for your contributions, and competitive pay and benefits. You'll work with limited supervision and must be able to balance multiple demands and competing priorities, with flexibility to modify your work schedule to benefit customers, the company, and our department.

Please note that you must possess all basic and required qualifications to be considered for this position. This is not a represented or union position, and visa sponsorship is not available.
