Maryland Energy Advisors (MDEA) is a rapidly growing energy management company that serves some of the area's largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, and manufacturers. We provide consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for a customer centric individual to join our team as an Energy Efficiency Product Merchandiser in New Jersey.

The Energy Efficiency Product Merchandiser (Retail) is responsible for supporting the growth and expansion of New Jersey's energy efficiency products. This individual will provide education and information about a local utility provider's energy efficiency products in retail locations throughout the local service territory and ensure products are accurately priced. The Energy Efficiency Product Merchandiser (Retail) will educate employees at retail locations on the product benefits and best practices for selling products to consumers, as well as assist clients with understanding potential savings opportunities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Merchandise retail locations with proper Point of Purchase (POP) materials. Interact with retailer sales staff to promote relevant energy-efficient product messaging

Provide education to clients and consumers on residential savings opportunities. This includes providing knowledge and information on energy-efficient technologies such as appliances, electronics, and heat pump water heater equipment to retail associates, contractors, and other trade allies participating in programs targeted at the residential sector as well as consumers

Accurately track POP counts on a requested basis and ensure proper levels of POP for merchandising assigned retail locations

Complete a Monthly Success Story at an assigned Retail location and upload in the SharePoint for the client

Complete monthly Expense Reports accurately on the last day of the billing cycle prior to close of business

Availability to work as needed for special events at big box retail locations during evening and weekends

Assist the program team in the implementation and optimization of program administrative resources

Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns

Attend client and utility meetings for feedback on program enhancements, challenges, and overall program design improvements

Other Duties as assigned based on business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma

Ability to drive throughout New Jersey. Must have a current, valid driver's license, clean driving record, proof of motor vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Outstanding people skills. Demonstrated ability to connect quickly with others and work effectively at all levels within and outside of the organization, including vendors and business partners.

Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage deadlines and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and initiative-taking during slow periods.

Intermediate experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
