Commercial Metals Company seeks a highly skilled Sustainability and Energy Manager to lead our sustainability and energy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in energy management, with a strong focus on natural gas, electricity, and renewable energy.

This role involves negotiating and managing electricity and natural gas contracts/agreements/programs for CMC facilities while promoting/supporting energy policy important to CMC before legislative bodies, regulatory authorities, utilities, and other external bodies.

You will work closely with our operations and other internal partners to develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, strategic energy partners, and regulatory consultants, including utilities, energy suppliers, renewable energy developers, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the electricity and natural gas needs of CMC facilities
• Build a strong working relationship with our operations and other internal partners
• Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, strategic energy partners, and regulatory consultants, including utilities, energy suppliers, renewable energy developers, regulatory bodies, and industry associations
• Monitor and analyze energy markets, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors to identify opportunities and mitigate risks related to energy prices and supply
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in energy management with a strong focus on natural gas, electricity, and renewable energy
• Understanding of the specific energy load characteristics involved in steel production and other metals-related activities
• Ability to use Excel and other modeling software to source data and prepare analysis of large data sets to assess unique pricing structures, renewable energy investment opportunities, and other energy-related programs
