Airgas Inc. is hiring an Energy Director in Independence, MO, responsible for managing energy strategy, contracts, and performance for the AMG business. Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Energy Director to provide overall energy management direction and support for the AMG business at both the strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for fostering an environment of Diversity, Inclusion, and Respect. Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the AMG Energy Strategy to minimize cost while balancing and managing risk
• Manage energy risk and performance, manage energy contracts and all energy transactions, and optimize cost opportunities
• Ensure continuity of supply and access to competitive commodity sources, and fulfill AMG's energy transition ambitions through securing renewable energy sources
• Create an effective cooperative relationship with local operating personnel and ensure local teams have a working knowledge of key elements of the energy contracts
• Monitor individual plant operations and establish and track energy use efficiency targets and performance targets for energy reduction
• Negotiate competitive favorable terms to energy purchase contracts
• Close-the-loop with relevant stakeholders and ensure a regular integration of lessons learnt/best practices in the Energy Management Workflows
• Maintain and improve systems to develop and track energy cost information and facilitate reporting to operations, finance, and management
• Understand, monitor, and mitigate issues that impact Airgas cost at the ISO level
• *Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• At least eight years experience in the energy industry
• Deep understanding of the Industrial Gas business and the impact of electricity costs, volatility, and stability on the gas and liquid supply chain
• Previous experience in the commodity markets
• Proficient in Google sheets and applications
