About this opportunity
This position is responsible for expanding our customer base within an assigned territory through building and maintaining relationships with both current and potential customers. Energy Consultants are responsible for understanding specific client needs and offering solutions. This role requires motivation to generate new business creatively and serve Eastern communities flexibly.
What your role will look like
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospective customers, which includes providing accurate and current product knowledge, presenting fair and direct proposals, making educated recommendations, negotiating contracts, closing sales agreements, and assisting internal and external customers in the entire customer life cycle.
• Achieve or exceed pre-determined product and service sales targets within assigned territory.
• Travel within assigned sales territory for sales outreach, regulatory compliance coordination, and community involvement.
• Network through community events, including those events that occur outside of regular business hours, to develop the Eastern brand and attract new business.
• Seek and connect with potential business opportunities proactively.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams including Inside Sales and Service.
• Partner with Operations to ensure a seamless delivery of the experience pitched during the sale, which includes creating detailed and accurate work orders and communicating proactively throughout the process.
• Utilize web-based platforms on tablet, smart phone, and laptop to manage workflow and record accurate and detailed data.
• Network and communicate with local code officials to build the Eastern brand and ensure installations are compliant with local codes and restrictions that may be unique to communities in each sales area.
• Assist in the development, design, communication and implementation of the marketing plan.
• Monitor industry competitors and market conditions to understand customer-specific needs.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by engaging in safety training, alerting supervisors of unsafe actions, and modeling safety-conscious practices.
• Be receptive to and successfully complete other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to this role
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
• Minimum two years’ experience in outside sales, logistics, distribution, automotive sales, or comparable field.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Valid state license for size vehicle.
• Submit to and pass a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test.
• Provide a record of a safe driving history and maintain safe driving record.
