New Jersey Resources is seeking an Energy Assistance Coordinator Intern for a 10-week program in Wall Township, NJ. The role involves supporting the Energy Assistance team by contacting customers, providing information to agencies, scheduling visits, and assisting with campaigns. Candidates should be rising juniors/seniors in Business, Social Services, or Communications with strong communication and organizational skills. The position requires full-time availability during the summer and is not remote.

New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of NJR is seeking an Energy Assistance Coordinator Intern to assist with various duties to support the Energy Assistance team.

What you will do:
Bring your enthusiasm and drive and you’ll learn from some of the top talent in the energy industry. You’ll have hands-on experience with your team and the support of our human resources team through this 10-week program. Growing both professionally and personally throughout the program could lead to future post-grad opportunities.
• Contact customers with past due balances participating in the Fresh Start program and provide information about availability of funds from other energy assistance programs.
• Provide utility bills, payment histories and energy burden to CAP agencies, social services and non-profit organizations
• Schedule home visits for senior and disable customers
• Assist with energy assistance campaigns – developing communication plans, coordinating with manager and cooperate communications to promote via advertising and public outreach events.
• Follow up with customers applying for the Gift of Warmth program through our online application in Wufoo.
• Assist with planning the Energy Assistances days – scheduling and promotional materials.
• Represent company at community events.

Requirements:
• Rising junior/senior currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Services or Communications
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) or equivalent PC skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational and customer relations skills are required.
• Bilingual is a plus
• Ability to work hybrid/onsite in the corporate office in Wall, NJ
• Available to work full time (40 hours per week) during defined intern program dates (June-August)
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
