Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Energy and Sustainability Manager to lead and implement the client’s energy management and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing energy consumption, reducing environmental impacts, and ensuring compliance with sustainability goals. This position plays a key role in enhancing our client's environmental performance while driving cost-saving strategies and partnering with all ABM on-site team members to meet stakeholder’s expectations and scope. This position will be dotted line to the APS Energy & Sustainability Director on the ABM Platform and report directly to the Client Account Lead
Key Responsibilities:
• Energy Management:
• Oversee and monitor the client’s energy usage, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to increase energy efficiency.
• Develop and maintain an energy management program, including tracking energy data and identifying opportunities for energy savings.
• Evaluate energy-related systems and propose improvements or upgrades (e.g., HVAC, lighting, insulation).
• Sustainability Initiatives:
• Lead client sustainability projects focused on reducing waste, water usage, and carbon footprint.
• Implement sustainability policies and ensure alignment with company goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Work to achieve relevant certifications such as LEED, ISO 14001, or other recognized environmental standards.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports, including energy audits, emissions data, and sustainability impact assessments.
• Renewable Energy Integration:
• Research, evaluate, and recommend renewable energy solutions (e.g., solar, wind) to reduce reliance on non-renewable resources.
• Assess the feasibility and ROI of renewable energy projects and oversee their implementation.
• Cost Management and Reporting:
• Develop and manage budgets for energy and sustainability projects.
• Provide reports on energy savings, sustainability goals, and environmental performance to senior management.
• Employee Engagement and Training:
• Promote sustainability awareness across the organization and provide training to employees on energy-efficient practices.
• Engage with staff to foster a culture of sustainability and energy conservation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Energy Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in energy management, sustainability, or related fields.
• Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS) and sustainability reporting tools.
• Familiarity with green building standards such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience analyzing energy data and sustainability metrics.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in energy management or sustainability (e.g., CEM – Certified Energy Manager, LEED AP, ISO 14001).
• Experience with renewable energy projects and technologies.
• Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and energy-efficient technologies.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
