Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Energy & Grid Integration Mechanical Engineer. You will enhance INL's clean energy integration, power systems development, and modeling capabilities. You will drive integration of a variety of energy sources, including wind, hydropower, solar, and nuclear power systems. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located in our ESL facility with every other Friday off. You will report to the Systems Engineering & Integration Department Manager. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. Responsibilities Include:
• Establish a track record for proven performance of integration of power systems and control technologies through design of resource assessments, and perform renewable and classical power systems analyses.
• Support micro-grid to full-scale grid demonstrations, research and development.
• Coordinate model results to technical staff, group leads, and external collaborators.
• Prepare and contribute to design analyses and developments, technical reports, publications, and presentations at national technical meetings and project reviews with program sponsors.
• Support INL Systems Engineering and Integration Department leadership in meeting customer expectations and milestones, and internal reporting metrics.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or directly related field from an ABET-accredited institution and 2 years of experience or Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering; Engineer in Training or related field from an ABET-accredited institution or directly related field and 0 years experience.
• Relevant experience commensurate with level.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
• The pay range for this position is $75,804 - $155,496. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
