Climate Analytics is seeking an Energy and Climate Data Analyst for its Australia Pacific Office in Fremantle, Western Australia. The role involves analyzing energy and climate policy in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, drafting reports, and developing decarbonization pathways. Candidates should have a Master's degree and at least four years of relevant experience. The position offers a flexible work environment and various leave benefits.
Job Description Under the supervision of the Australia Pacific Office Director, with a focus on Australia and Asia-Pacific countries, your key responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of energy and climate policy in Australia and Asia-Pacific countries. Drafting reports and analyses of climate and energy policy issues in Australia and Asia-Pacific countries, including responses to media and stakeholder requests. Tracking, analysing, and assessing climate and energy policy and data for Australia (national and state-based), and Asia-Pacific countries, including greenhouse gas and energy statistics and projections. Collecting and analysing energy market data research in Australia and Asia-Pacific countries. Analysing interlinkages between climate and energy policy. Using and developing energy system modelling tools to develop 1.5°C aligned country and regional decarbonisation pathways. Analyzing policy implications from energy system data and modelling. Supporting the development of energy system models by providing relevant data and context. Researching best practices in climate policy and developing policy recommendations. Supporting the development of proposals. Your Profile Essential Criteria Master's degree in climate economics, climate policy, energy studies, mathematics, or a related field. Comparable experience will be considered. Minimum of four years of experience in climate mitigation policy and data analysis. Desirable Criteria Experience working with developing countries. Experience working with China. Knowledge and experience in climate change and energy policy in the Australia and Asia-Pacific country context. Our Offer A job with purpose.
