Diablo Convoy seeks an Energy Analyst in California, MO, to conduct feasibility studies, financial modeling, and ROI analysis for distributed energy projects. Our Client is an innovative energy consulting firm specializing in distributed energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients. Their expertise spans Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and microgridsthough they maintain a technology-agnostic approach to deliver the most effective, cost-efficient energy solutions.
Our Client is seeking an Energy Analyst to join our team and play a key role in conducting feasibility studies, financial modeling, and return-on-investment (ROI) analysis for distributed energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:Conductfeasibility studiesfor distributed energy solutions, evaluating technical and economic viability for commercial and industrial clients.
Develop detailedfinancial modelsand ROI analyses for energy projects, incorporating capital costs, operational expenses, incentives, and energy savings.
Analyze energy usage data, load profiles, and site characteristics to optimizeCHP, BESS, and microgridsolutions.
Utilize software tools to perform energy modeling, simulation, and cost-benefit analyses.
Research and assessincentives, regulatory frameworks, and energy market trendsthat impact project economics.
Providedata-driven recommendationsto clients and internal teams on energy strategies that improve sustainability and cost savings.
Collaborate with engineering, business development, and project management teams to support solution design and client proposals.
Present findings in clear, concise reports and presentations to internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications & Skills:Required:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in energy analysis, financial modeling, or distributed energy project assessment.
Strong proficiency inExcel, Python, or energy modeling toolsfor financial and performance modeling.
Knowledge of CHP, BESS, microgrids, and other distributed energy technologies.
Understanding of utility tariffs, energy incentives, and regulatory policies.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex energy data into actionable insights.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:Experience withRETScreen, HOMER, or DER-CAMsoftware for energy modeling.
Familiarity withdemand response programs, grid interconnection, and power purchase agreements (PPAs) .
Knowledge of renewable energy integration and energy efficiency strategies.
