Phillips 66 is seeking an Energy Analyst to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role is likely focused on analyzing energy markets, renewable energy trends, carbon policies, or regional energy dynamics relevant to Phillips 66's business interests in the Pacific Northwest. As an Energy Analyst, you will conduct research, analyze data, build models, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making related to energy transitions, market opportunities, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of the energy industry, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct research and analysis on energy markets, including supply, demand, pricing, and infrastructure. Analyze trends in renewable energy, low-carbon fuels, and energy transition technologies. Monitor and analyze energy policies, regulations, and environmental standards at the federal, state, and local levels, particularly relevant to Washington state. Build and maintain analytical models to forecast energy prices, market demand, or emissions. Collect, clean, and analyze energy-related data from various sources. Prepare reports, presentations, and memos summarizing analysis and insights. Provide analytical support for strategic planning and investment decisions. Collaborate with internal teams, including strategy, commercial, and government affairs. Stay updated on industry news, competitor activities, and technological advancements in the energy sector. Assess the potential impact of market changes and regulatory developments on Phillips 66's business. Identify and evaluate new opportunities in the energy sector. Contribute to the development of Phillips 66's energy transition strategy. Utilize data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, Tableau). Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Support due diligence for potential projects or investments. Manage data repositories and ensure data integrity. Participate in industry conferences and workshops as needed. Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the organization. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing on energy topics. Ensure analysis is accurate and objective.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy analysis, market research, or a related analytical role. Strong understanding of the energy industry, including traditional oil and gas and emerging renewable energy sectors. Knowledge of energy markets, regulations, and policies, particularly those relevant to the Pacific Northwest, is a significant plus. Experience with data analysis and modeling. Proficiency in using spreadsheet software (Excel) for analysis; experience with Python, R, or other analytical tools is beneficial. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly. Strong attention to detail. Ability to build relationships and collaborate with different teams. Experience with policy analysis is beneficial. Understanding of environmental economics or carbon markets is a plus. Proactive attitude and intellectual curiosity.
