About the Initiative

Going to School is pioneering 10-day Business Schools across Bengaluru designed to empower women entrepreneurs to build green businesses that address climate change. Our mission is to enable the creation of viable, financially sound enterprises that solve environmental problems while elevating women’s incomes.

Role Summary

We are seeking Sector-Based Consultants with backgrounds in business, entrepreneurship, engineering, or finance, to lead our business school sessions and co-create green business plans with women entrepreneurs. These consultants will be hands-on, operating on the ground, conducting research in real communities, and building data-driven, financially robust business plans aligned with green sector opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
• Business School Facilitation. Lead 10-day workshops on enterprise building, finance, and climate innovation.
• Work with teams of entrepreneurs who have graduated from the business school to research, onsite, outside, end to end new sustainable enterprises and/or green verticals for their current businesses.
• Build comprehensive business plans with participants, including cash flow forecasts. Identify appropriate funding avenues including self-funding, micro-loans, government schemes, and private capital.
• Write and deliver business plans, cash-flows, pitch decks for the entrepreneurs you are working with.

Reporting & Documentation
• Share business plans, cashflows, one page slides for businesses you have worked on.
• Ensure all data, visuals, and financials are ready for internal and partner reporting by key deadlines (e.g., June 10th & June 30th).

Qualifications

Essential
• Degree or experience in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Entrepreneurship.
• Proven ability to design, research, write business plans.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills (English; local language proficiency a must).
• Comfortable working on-site, outdoors, and in community settings.

Preferred
• Experience working with women entrepreneurs or community-based programs.
• Prior involvement in climate-related or green innovation sectors.
• Familiarity with MSME and microfinance ecosystems in India.

Timeline & Deliverables
