Job Description:

The Mobility Assessment Evaluator (MAE) is responsible for reviewing ADA paratransit application materials, conducting in-person interviews with applicants, and performing functional assessments to determine eligibility for ADA paratransit service. This role involves maintaining accurate documentation and providing final eligibility determinations to clients.

This position is based in Denver, CO, with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Determine final eligibility based on applications, interviews, functional assessments, and supplemental information
• Conduct in-person interviews to assess mobility capabilities and review supplementary information
• Determine the need for functional assessments and provide written eligibility determination documents to clients within contracted timeframes
• Read and interpret ADA paratransit applications, intake forms, and professional verification forms
• Review interview results and application paperwork, following up on assessments and verifications as needed
• Maintain ongoing communication with the Quality Assurance team and management regarding contractual deadlines and potential liquidated damages
• Assist applicants in completing incomplete documents and scanning ADA applications, interview guides, and other relevant documents into their cases
• Provide additional written documentation to clients upon request
• Collaborate with the leadership team to identify process improvement opportunities
• Conduct functional physical and/or cognitive assessments with applicants, which may include standardized evaluation tools and equipment
• Apply assessment findings to determine an applicant's capability to ride fixed-route transportation independently
• Provide required forms to administrative personnel for data entry and eligibility letter generation
• Participate in staff meetings with leadership and clients
• Engage in community outreach and education as needed
• Participate in initial and ongoing training as required by MTM and clients
• Complete necessary reports, paperwork, and maintain ongoing applicant tracking logs and reports for MTM and clients within contractual deadlines
• Process mail-in applications within contractual deadlines as assigned
• Assist with phone calls to applicants and providers
• Conduct phone interviews as needed
• Input all information into client software (Trapeze) and other relevant programs
• Build rapport and communicate effectively with MTM and client personnel, including administrators, management, support staff, and applicants, while providing high-quality customer service
• Participate in the appeals process as requested
• Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with individuals, support staff, and caregivers
• Work with management and clients to address service issues, troubleshoot problems, concerns, complaints, and training
• Adhere to MTM's HIPAA standards

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Rehabilitation, Ancillary Health Care Profession, or a related field
• Will accept relevant experience and specialized certifications in lieu of a Bachelor's degree depending on contract specifications (Certifications can include: COTA, OT, PT)
• 3+ years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Experience and knowledge with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and sensitivity to issues relating to people with disabilities and older adults

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience conducting information-gathering for ADA Paratransit eligibility
• Solid interviewing, assessment, and observational skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to clearly communicate findings and observations on required database reports and notes, as well as certification letters
• Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $26/hour
