Redwood Materials is seeking an Electrochemist for Sustainable Materials in Sparks, NV. The role involves developing new materials and processes for cathode active materials, collaborating with customers, providing technical support, and managing research technicians. Cathode Scientist Role

This Cathode Scientist position is at the center of our activities focused on creating a circular economy for lithium-ion batteries. As a key member of our team, you will lead the development of new materials and/or processes for scaling-up and manufacturing cathode active materials.

Key Responsibilities
• Developing new materials and processes for cathode active materials.
• Collaborating with external customers to understand their needs and translate those requirements into projects.
• Providing technical support and guidance to customers, including direct and remote interactions.
• Intellectual property creation and management, including patent application writing and filing.
• Team management and coaching for Research Technicians.
• Technical expertise provision to commercial and business development teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

We require an individual with industry experience in relevant areas such as synthesis, characterization, process scale-up, or electrochemistry of lithium-ion battery materials. An advanced degree in a related field and strong communication skills are also necessary.
