Elecnor Australia is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for solar projects in Brisbane. The role involves managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with standards, developing designs for solar farms, supporting procurement, and collaborating with teams. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, 3-5 years of experience in solar or power generation projects, and strong project management skills.
Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Engineer will work closely with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and technicians, to ensure that all project objectives are met.

RESPONSABILITES
• Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, reports, and calculations, and performing design studies to ensure compliance with Australian standards.
• Developing in-house electrical designs for solar farms and BESS, including single-line diagrams, layouts, cable sizing, and equipment selection.
• Supporting procurement by preparing technical specifications, evaluating supplier proposals, and ensuring equipment selection aligns with project requirements.
• Supporting subcontracted consultants in developing detailed designs and verifying deliverables for compliance with technical specifications.
• Contributing to the early-stage tendering process by evaluating technical feasibility and developing preliminary designs for solar farms and BESS.
• Providing engineering support during construction and commissioning, resolving technical issues, and conducting site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Reviewing test results and ensuring proper commissioning of electrical systems while maintaining up-to-date records of engineering deliverables.
• Ensuring electrical designs comply with Australian Standards, Grid Codes, and project specifications, and supporting the development of as-built documentation.
• Proactively identifying and mitigating design and procurement risks, and ensuring the timely, high-quality delivery of engineering designs and documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to align electrical engineering with other project disciplines.
• Contributing to new business initiatives and leading by example to promote high technical standards within the team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or a related role
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in large-scale solar farms, BESS, or power generation projects.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with project management software and tools
