Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Leadman to join our construction team. The Electrical Leadman will oversee and coordinate the work of electrical team members, ensuring the successful installation and maintenance of electrical systems in compliance with industry standards. This role requires collaboration with project managers and other team members to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for electrical installations.
• Plan and execute new or modified installations to minimize material waste while adhering to specifications and local electrical codes.
• Install control and distribution systems, including switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Determine and implement appropriate fastening systems for equipment support.
• Terminate wiring and connect equipment according to codes and job specifications.
• Connect power cables and grounding leads for equipment such as motors and appliances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, ensuring proper placement and concealment of wiring during construction.
• Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety using tools like ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Observe and evaluate installed systems to identify hazards or necessary adjustments.
• Install solar components, including AC/DC systems, racking, and modules per project plans.
• Train and mentor team members, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 5 years of electrical experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Pass pre-employment drug and agility tests.
• Willingness to travel throughout the state as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems.
• Proficiency in project management software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining project schedules and budgets.
