Farnsworth Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Energy & Utilities in one of the below posting locations. In this role you will assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power Distribution, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, Medium Voltage Systems, Substations, Lighting and Communications for Oil & Gas, Industrial, Advanced Manufacturing and Renewable Energy markets.

Job

Activities:
• Candidate will actively engage in and assume responsibility for:
• Code research and application
• Fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions.
• Preliminary schematics through final designs
• Calculations
• Equipment specifications, sizing, and layout
• Coordination with other production staff and other engineering disciplines
• Preparation of accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications
• Submittal review and construction administration.
• Power systems studies
• Candidate will interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors and maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
• This role includes responsibility for mentoring designers and drafters.
• This role reports to an engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Specific Requirements include:
• Electrical engineer with 4-8 years of experience in technically complex system design.
• BS in Electrical Engineering. EIT designation required, Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
• Wide range of design experience, including industrial power distribution, controls and MV systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with others and work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
• Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
• Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of codes and standards associated with electrical power, including National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and applicable IEEE Standards.
• Ability to pass background checks and willingness to comply with immunization requirements that our industrial clients may require to access their facilities.
• Ability to complete occasional travel to client sites in support of projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
• NCEES Record holder preferred.
• Knowledge of Navisworks software preferred.
• Knowledge of SKM Power Tools, Easy Power and/or ETAP preferred.
