Job Description

CAMS is hiring an E&I Technician for the Keystone Generating Station in Shelocta, PA. The role involves installing, testing, and maintaining equipment at a coal power plant. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in instrumentation, electronics, or power generation preferred. Brief Description

The Keystone Generating Station is 1.71-gigawatt (1,711 MW), coal power plant in southeastern Armstrong County Pennsylvania.

This position is responsible for activities related to the operation of a coal-fired plant, including installing, testing removing or replacing motors, generators, rectifiers, batteries, transformers, regulators, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, instrument relays, lighting equipment and other allied equipment and control apparatus. The candidate must reside within a reasonable distance from the facility in order to be available for callouts and emergencies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Successful candidate will install, test, remove or replace motors, generators, rectifiers, batteries, transformers, regulators, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, instruments, relays, lighting equipment, lighting arrestors, and other allied equipment and control apparatus.
• Other duties include insulating oil testing, welding, setting, adjusting, and maintaining all steam, water and air flow meters, recorders, temperature gauges, main and auxiliary apparatus. Maintains all apparatus and test equipment used in these job duties.
• Under close supervision, may be required to assist in making any combustion, furnace, burner, boiler, or superheater efficiency tests.

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience in instrumentation and electronics or power generation, or a two-year associate degree in electrical engineering or Instrument Control is desired
• Must be able to pass an entry-level job skills exam and an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician entry level test.
• Successful candidate will work as part of a team and ensure they are operating economically, efficiently, safely and within state/federal compliance at all times.
• Must be available for callouts/emergencies.
• Competent computer skills.
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Other Desirable Skills And Working Conditions
• Power plant environment. Work environment includes working out of doors, working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas. Some temperatures can be extreme.
• Work in and around rotating equipment, high voltage electrical equipment, high noise areas and elevations.
• Emergency situations will require the use of a respirator and established facial hair in the sealing area of a respirator is not permitted.
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
