We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Technician to join our team at our Chatham, Ontario, Canada production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting inspections, and implementing safety programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

What You Will Do
• Conduct Inspections and Audits: Perform regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety, health, and environmental hazards in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
• Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks
• Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental and safety data, prepare reports, and present findings to management
• Training and Education: Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S training programs to educate employees on safety protocols and procedures
• Waste Management: Monitor waste management operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and proper disposal of hazardous materials
• Emergency Procedures: Implement emergency procedures, conduct drills, and ensure readiness for potential incidents
• Policy Development: Prepare and update safety policies and procedures manuals to reflect current regulations and best practices
• Incident Investigation: Assist in injury and incident inquiries, evaluations, and documentation
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all EHS-related incidents and present statistical analysis to management
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on local, provincial, and federal safety regulations to ensure company compliance
• Various other duties as assigned

Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent

What Skills You Need
• You possess a minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in safety, production, agriculture, or related field
• Strong attention to detail to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations
• You have a valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey safety information and training to employees
• You are comfortable with technology and possess excellent computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address safety issues promptly
• In-depth understanding of local, provincial, and federal safety regulations and standards
• Effectively demonstrate, communicate, and lead safety standards expectations to the team regarding Corteva’s policies, standards, and procedures to ensure a strong safety culture
• Accurately complete appropriate records, documents, and reports as required

What Makes You Stand Out
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Certifications: EH&S-related credentials
• Training Experience: Experience in developing and delivering EH&S training programs
• Emergency Response: Knowledge of emergency response procedures and experience in conducting drills
• Environmental Permitting: Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and regulations
• Industrial Hygiene: Understanding of industrial hygiene principles and practices

Site Dedicated (100% at Corteva location):
• This role will be on-site at our Corteva locations – Chatham and Ridgetown Production locations.
