EHS Specialist-Waste Water

Our client is seeking an EHS Specialist to join the team at their state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate for this full-time, direct-hire role has proven experience managing wastewater treatment systems in the beverage industry and a desire to use their expertise at a company that emphasizes product quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Responsibilities of the EHS Specialist
• Oversee and manage wastewater treatment processes
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and implement best practices to minimize environmental impact
• Conduct thorough risk assessments across all factory operations
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive EHS policies and procedures
• Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, focusing on wastewater management, environmental compliance, and general safety practices
• Investigate any accidents, incidents, or near-misses that occur in the facility; determine root causes, implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and maintain detailed records
• Conduct regular audits and inspections
• Maintain all necessary permits and licenses
• Foster positive relationships with local regulatory agencies, government authorities, and other stakeholders
• Develop and manage the EHS budget
• Actively participate in and lead EHS improvement projects to enhance overall performance, reduce risks, and promote a culture of safety excellence

Qualifications of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing wastewater treatment systems in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements in the beverage industry
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards applicable to the beverage industry in New Hampshire, including OSHA, EPA, and state-specific requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems is a plus
• CSP, CIH, or other relevant EHS certifications are highly desirable
• Beverage Manufacturing Industry experience is a plus
