Gotion, Inc. seeks an EHS Specialist in Manteno, IL, responsible for developing and maintaining EHS programs, ensuring workplace safety, and regulatory compliance. Key tasks include hazard identification, incident investigation, training, and data analysis. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2+ years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Professional certifications are a plus.
We are looking for an EHS Specialist to join our growing Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with all applicable regulations. As an EHS Specialist, you will work closely with management, employees, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. This position is critical in helping us maintain a safe and compliant operation.

What you'll do
• Program Implementation and Maintenance: Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, including but not limited to: hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, confined space entry, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Training and Communication: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees on various safety topics, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local EHS regulations and ensure company compliance.
• Environmental Compliance: Support environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities related to air emissions, wastewater discharge, and waste management.
• Emergency Preparedness and Response: Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills and exercises.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report EHS data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with management, employees, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture and address EHS concerns.
• Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
What you'll bring
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Experience in conducting hazard assessments, risk analyses, and incident investigations.
• Strong understanding of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85k - $100k + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
