GLOBAL CALCIUM is seeking an EHS Officer in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, responsible for ensuring employee health and safety, compliance with environmental regulations, and fostering a sustainable work environment. Key duties include conducting risk assessments, emergency response planning, EHS training, incident investigations, and collaborating on EHS policies. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 3-5 years of experience in the pharma industry, and strong knowledge of EHS regulations.
Overview

The EHS Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the overall well-being of the organization. This role is integral to maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to control workplace hazards.
• Plan and oversee emergency response procedures and drills.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
• Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and conduct inspections.
• Monitor and analyze EHS performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in the design and implementation of environmental management systems.
• Lead and support sustainability initiatives.
• Manage EHS documentation and record-keeping.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
• Stay informed about EHS best practices and regulatory changes.

Experience : 3-5 Years in pharma industry

Qualification : Diploma Chemical / B.Sc. Chemistry

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in EHS or related role.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing control measures.
• Proficient in emergency response planning and implementation.
• Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
• Ability to investigate incidents and identify root causes.
• Experience in leading EHS audits and inspections.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
• Proficiency in EHS software and record management systems.
• Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
