Job Description

CPS, Inc. seeks an EHS Manager for their Camden, NJ facility. The role involves developing EHS management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a safety culture. Join a well-established and growing chemical manufacturing company that values safety and continuous improvement. We’re seeking an EHS Manager who enjoys being on the plant floor and is eager to lead meaningful enhancements in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS management system tailored to the facility’s operations.
• Foster strong relationships across all organizational levels to promote a proactive EHS culture.
• Ensure timely compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including reporting to agencies such as the EPA and OSHA.
• Oversee environmental compliance areas, including hazardous waste management, stormwater, air and wastewater, industrial hygiene, process safety management, occupational health programs, emergency response, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Conduct gap analyses to identify EHS priorities and implement corrective actions.
• Achieve and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
• Prepare and manage the annual EHS budget.
• Lead safety programs, including training, safety committee management, process safety initiatives, and incident investigations.
• Manage safety-related systems, including the protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, and first aid supplies.
• Administer the workers’ compensation program for the facility.
• Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Interact with regulatory agencies during site inspections.
• Maintain EHS documentation and records.
• Perform other EHS duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Set goals and establish deadlines for the EHS team.
• Develop, coach, manage, and lead direct reports.

Salary

$140,000 - $160,000

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in EHS roles, with a preference for candidates possessing over 10 years of experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in industrial hygiene, workers’ compensation management, accident investigation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver effective presentations and training sessions.
• Proven ability to collaborate across various teams and departments, fostering a cohesive and safety-conscious work environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:
• Regularly traverse the facility, including ascending and descending stairs, to access various departments and operational areas.
• Occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, adhering to proper safety protocols.
• Work in diverse environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to varying temperatures, humidity levels, and weather conditions.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, as required by specific tasks or safety guidelines.
