EHS Leader [ML-14275]

Shirley Parsons is seeking an experienced EHS Leader for a pharmaceutical R&D facility in San Diego, CA. The role involves leading EHS services, ensuring compliance, assessing EHS programs, and managing a team of consultants. Candidates should have over 10 years of EHS experience, particularly in biopharma, and familiarity with relevant regulations. The position offers a salary of $130K–150K annually and requires a full-time commitment.
We are looking for an experienced EHS Leader to lead a broad range of EHS services at the client’s site as the Shirley Parsons Consultant representative. The client is a pharmaceutical manufacturer, and the site is a laboratory-based R&D facility. The individual will serve as the leader, interfacing with the corporate EHS team, onsite leadership, and Shirley Parsons to lead a successful operation of all EHS functions.

The Role:
• Maintain an ongoing presence at the site and ensure the site remains in compliance with all EHS requirements
• Assess the applicability and effectiveness of EHS programs
• Develop and utilize roadmaps and action tracking to drive continuous improvement and measure performance
• Ensure the work product meets Shirley Parsons’ and the client’s expectations through the capabilities of vendor onsite support oversight and collaboration with applicable Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Lead a team of EHS consultants (2-4 individuals).

The Candidate:
• 10+ years of EHS experience, including extensive biopharma laboratory experience.
• Strong background and knowledge of assessing risk for both chemical and biological exposure in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to train, explain, and implement locally the Chemical Hygiene Plan
• Strong familiarity with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, NIH guidelines, and other applicable standards.
• CIH or CSP is strongly preferred.
