Job Description

The Tucson Audubon Society is seeking an Education Coordinator in Phoenix, AZ, responsible for designing and implementing educational programs for K-12 students, particularly in Spanish. Key duties include collaborating with community partners, managing educational materials, and supporting volunteer outreach. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, and strong organizational skills. The position offers a full benefits package with a wage range of $16.20 - $19.11 per hour.
The Education Coordinator assists the Volunteer & Education Manager in coordinating, designing, and implementing Tucson Audubon’s (TAS) educational programming, classroom lessons, youth-oriented field trips, and events for children in grades K-12.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and implements educational programming with an emphasis on developing and implementing programming in Spanish.
Collaborates with and supports community partners with educational programming opportunities.
Ensures educational programming aligns with TAS’s mission and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) values.
Assists with developing and managing both digital educational materials (e.g., lesson plans, protocols, etc.) and physical educational materials (e.g., activity kits, binoculars, craft supplies, etc.).
Assists with volunteer outreach and supervision.
Cultivates strong relationships with volunteers.
Collaborates with the Communications & Development team to ensure educational content is regularly updated on the website, social media, and in publications.
Works with the Communications & Development team to promote educational programming and report on program activities.
Utilizes a database to schedule and manage events, including registration of and communication with participants.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
Required

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (a combination of education and experience may be considered if it directly relates to the position and supports the ability to successfully perform the job)
1 year of related work experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish, with ability to write, read, and speak both languages with professional working proficiency (as defined here: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/resumes-cover-letters/levels-of-fluency-resume)
Ability to make connections and establish partnerships with other organizations that can help support educational programming
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate positively with people at all levels
Ability to interact with stakeholders in manner that promotes affinity for the organization
Ability to initiate and complete projects, be flexible, and work within a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and thorough attention to detail
Proficient with website updating and database management
Strong working knowledge of, and comfort with, internet use, e-mail, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google programs
Valid Arizona Driver's License
Reliable transportation
Understanding of and commitment to Tucson Audubon’s mission, goals, and values

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish, with ability to write, read, and speak both languages with native/bilingual proficiency (as defined here: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/resumes-cover-letters/levels-of-fluency-resume)
Experience teaching children aged K-12
Experience working at a non-profit organization
Experience with public speaking and interpersonal networking
An interest in birds, natural history, and conservation

COMPENSATION
Rate: Hourly wage of $16.20 - $19.11, dependent on experienceBenefits: Full benefits package including 10 holidays/yearTerm: Permanent position
