Habitat Assessment & Restoration Ltd is seeking an Ecologist/Ecological Data Analyst for a hybrid role based in Edinburgh. At HAR, we’re restoring some of the world’s most important island ecosystems — and we need sharp, curious minds to help design the science that underpins it.
We’re looking for an Ecologist / Ecological Data Analyst who thrives at the intersection of fieldwork, data, and real-world conservation impact. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting their boots muddy one week and diving into complex datasets the next.


You’ll contribute to seabird conservation and island restoration projects across Scotland, the UK, and internationally — helping translate ecological data into decisions that genuinely make a difference.


What You’ll Be DoingDesigning robust, representative ecological monitoring programmesUndertaking fieldwork on coastal and island sites (yes — expect travel and adventure)Managing, cleaning, and analysing complex ecological datasetsApplying statistical and quantitative methods to real-world conservation challengesProducing clear, high-quality technical reports and visualisationsHelping innovate how we monitor and measure restoration successCollaborating closely with a driven, multidisciplinary teamWho We’re Looking For
You’re someone who is
