Job Description

The Ecological Restoration Technician position at the Student Conservation Association in Morris, MN, involves mapping and treating invasive plant species in prairies. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about environmental conservation and wildlife habitat management.

You will work closely with our team to map and treat invasive plant species in high-quality prairies in west central Minnesota. This position provides excellent entry-level skills and exposure to land management techniques.

Responsibilities:
• Conducting fieldwork to identify and map invasive plant species;
• Operating heavy equipment such as ATVs and UTVs;
• Using specialized equipment such as brush saws and backpack sprayers;
• Maintaining accurate records of fieldwork and inventory management.

Requirements:
• A valid driver's license;
• Comfort with using herbicides (all necessary protective gear will be provided);
• Ability to work outdoors in remote locations;
• Capable of carrying 40 pounds;
• Ability to navigate to sites across a large geographic area.
