Ecological Restoration Crew Assistant

Conservation Legacy is seeking an Ecological Restoration Crew Assistant for the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps in Kykotsmovi Village, AZ. The role involves participating in conservation projects like trail maintenance and habitat improvement in various public areas. The position requires teamwork, safety awareness, and physical activity, such as hiking. This is a full-time, non-residential role with no degree requirement.
About the Program:

The Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) is a dynamic community of peer leaders committed to engaging young adults in conservation and service projects. Our program provides opportunities for members to learn about and connect with the environment, issues surrounding conservation, and local Indigenous values.

Program Structure:

We work in a variety of National Parks, National Forests, and other public areas. Selected members are placed on a crew which will then collaborate to perform project work. ALCC crews work in a non-residential setting and do not offer housing; however, gear and equipment rental is available upon request.

Crew Activities:
• Trail construction & maintenance
• Habitat improvement
• Hazardous fuels reduction
• Re-vegetation
• Historic preservation
• Local environmental service projects

Essential Functions:
• Frequently required to walk and hike over long distances
• Required to use hands to operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms

Teamwork and Safety:
• Members must be willing to engage in collaboration, respect others, and assist in making group decisions
• All participants are required to participate in a culture of safety on their crew during all program activities by being aware of and adhering to program policies, as well as fostering an atmosphere of wellness in the program
