GreenWaste is hiring a Class A Driver in Florin, CA, with a pay range of $28-$31.50/hr. The role involves driving various trucks, ensuring safety and compliance, interacting with customers, and completing inspections and paperwork. Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid Class A license, and good communication skills. The position requires physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs and involves regular interaction with dispatch and customers.

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Class A Driver to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 4201 Florin Perkins Road, Sacramento, CA.

Position Summary

GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Class A Driver to provide support to one or more facilities by driving roll-off trucks, pup trailer, transfer trucks, and/or other delivery trucks . This role’s main function will involve, driving safely, communication with dispatch and customers during operating hours and interact with others in a positive, effective manner.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
• Use route navigation apps and maps to service bins in different cities.
• Ensure all assigned equipment is safe, clean and operable for collection.
• Operate various types of collection and transfer vehicles.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections daily to ensure safety and compliance.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out and turned in correctly on a daily basis.
• Comply with all safety requirements and Company policies.
• Wear required and assigned PPE to ensure safety.
• Maintain a current valid driver’s license (Class A).
• Ability to read and review daily work orders and route accordingly.
• Submit to regulatory Drug and Alcohol Testing as required by Federal Law.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
• Knowledge of vehicle’s operating characteristics.
• Ability to drive safely and operate Class A delivery and/or collection trucks.
• Ability to verbally communicate on two-way radio.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of the area roads, subdivisions, and campuses.
• Must have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret schedules, forms, and maps.
• Must have and maintain a satisfactory criminal background that meets district, state, and federal requirements.
• Must be proficient in the use of routing software and databases associated with the routing, scheduling, and dispatch functions.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass driver physical examination for physical and emotional stability
• Must possess and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
• Must possess a valid and current class A License

Language Skill
• Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

Physical Demands
• Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs.
• Constant bending and twisting
• Frequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sitting
• Constant climbing in and out of vehicles
• Frequent sitting and semi-frequent walking

Work Environment

Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
